HO. LEE. POOP.

This took me sooo loooong, and I worked sooo haaaard! But, I just had to - as soon as I saw the announcement for this contest, I knew I had to enter. First of all, I LOVE James and the Giant Peach! One of the only movies I would watch as a kid, and I watched it A LOT.

Second, going away to my own little world is kind of my thing. What I mean by that is, I do it a lot, and I (as sad/ nerdy as this sounds) actually have a structured, mapped out world that I go to when I want to relax.

For this picture, I chose to depict myself closing my eyes and letting the world around me shift into the fantasy world I love so much. I included a few of my favorite elements from that world, like the cobalt/crimson trees and the little Angler-Foxes.

I might do a little bit of adjusting to this before the deadline, mostly to the lighting (oh man, is it hard to do lighting! Please have mercy on my weak attempts!).

P.S. There's a reference to one of my favorite artists in there; anyone who finds it and knows who the artist is wins a picture drawn by me of whatever their heart desires~

Tools used were Photoshop Elements 6, and Wacom Bamboo tablet.

Lines took about seven hours ( ;A; ) colors took about, uh, ten-ish.

EDIT: I changed the colors a little, and I stretched it a bit to make it look less smooshed/ xc
